I assume you where two crew on the 10 while the others where SP? How did the second pilot logistics play out while you enjoyed the benifits of the faster airframe?

Small note to above: that's a non -10 engine. -10 short body MU-2's are 300kts on 70GPH. Can't wait to hear about Citation Type Rating vs. MU-2 training from both of you. I found MU-2 training challenging and rewarding. For some reason a type rating scares me. Please share as you proceed. Have a blast, both of you. MT, is your stated destination Mountain Air? Post some video's of those landings & take-offs!

Not scary? It is my runabout and I love it!

Citation A OK for Mtn Air just can't go in or leave with more than 1,600lbs, MU-2 is going to be perfect for this mission.

If you wanted to be a jet pilot, why didn't you buy a real jet? Always love comments like these - Bill please tell us about all the jets you’ve personally owned...I’d imagine it’s a long list given your response. Congrats James - Can’t wait to hear more.

I read this recently and your comment reminded me of it as many things in life seem to be cyclical. Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times. I too have thought about the route back down the mountain and what that would like. Travel airs are amazingly fun to fly. My dad at 80 just sold his and hung up his wings.

Username Protected wrote: Weldon - what were your thoughts between citation and mu2?
James - congrats. 501s are sweet. I probably prefer the Mu2 over the Citation. Slightly different mission for each. The Jet in my opinion is much safer in the mountains, ie, Aspen,Vail,Teluride. The Mu2 on the other hand is, if you can get it in the door, the Mits will lift it. Mu2 is built like a tank, but, the NTS needs to be working. Also, no hanging on the spoilers (yoke), trim to fly, ball in the middle. Speed is life. BTW the Falcon 10 will do .87 mach at 28k if you are running late

How useable is F400/410 in the 501 practically? Does it need to step up there?
