Here's the profile view. This is clearly a new update of the Archer. It's hard to make out, but I see shadows of nose gear, so not a retract (particularly not after the change to Commercial checkride requirements). Attachment: piper.jpg

But so would G3x at about 1/5 the system cost and no TCDS avionics lock in.

True enough, I wasn’t thinking of the avionics package as much as the end game - thanks for the correction. That being said, the market for this may be less concerned about avionics lock in than the average buyer and they would likely prefer consistency across the fleet if they already have other G1000 planes.

I agree. If I was trying to develop a low cost trainer though I’d certify it with a six pack and then apply an STC at the factory to put G3x in. I could take $50k off the price without touching my per unit profit at all.
