Franck, I agree with that. A few of the top studs and 2 of the bottom ones look like the last 2-3 threads are pulled (stripped) and the lower stud 4-5 oclock position has the last 1/4" broken off . Not enough thread engagement
I dont know much about lycoming engines but a quick google machine inquiry mentions something about the all engines since 1987 being a wide deck cylinder configuration thus not requiring the hold down plates, and uses external nuts I see hold down plates and internal nuts). Could this also include any new cylinders put on during rebuild or top? I really dont know, just asking the question.
