In 2012 I attended a fly-in at West Houston and the Texas Cirrus dealer was trying to get my brother interested on a similar deal for a fully loaded, all options, low time (75 hr) demo plane. The price was 672K. With an annual inflation rate of 1%, how does 672K in 2012 become 950K in 2016 for an aircraft with 100 hrs more on the clock????

They sold every one of the 2015 units by the Nov 1 last year. Those people that committed to purchase in Nov and Dec of 2015 were sold a 2016 model for the 2015 price. In the mid 2000's they really ramped up production and cranked out a huge number of aircraft. This decimated the used market. They were left sitting on a huge number of traded in planes that continued to depreciate. They lost more money on traded in planes than they made on the increased production. Rather than increasing revenue by cranking out more production, they have simply decided to increase the price by 38K every year until they cannot sell all their aircraft at that price point.

What would the price of a brand new G36 be with TN and FIKI TKS and tip tanks? Close to 900K?

And that is what any rational business would do. Find out what the market will bear and sell your product for that.

To add TN and tips would probably add another $75,ooo to the price of a new G36, pushing it past $900K. FIKI TKS? Is that even available for a G36?? And, Useful load in a new G36 = 1038 pounds Useful load in a new SR22T = 1248 pounds

Totally agree - in fact, isn't that what we all do in our own businesses? Hats off to Cirrus - it's still amazing that they can get 950K for a slightly used single engine piston demo. It is a story of American success, ingenuity and fabulous marketing.

Yes, higher maintenance - but you have 750,000 left over for maintenance and fuel - much better value A fleet of dukes would be a reasonable alternative.

Think BEECH would ever add a CAPS system to the G36 ? It's on the list ... right after they finish ADSB-In
