The Garmin G3000 in the Citation M2 should be vastly cheaper than the Collins Proline 21 in the CJ1+, that's likely where a good portion of the cost savings are.

- There are 25 Eclipse 550s on the US Registry, the earliest was 2011.

Precious few of those are truly new builds from the ground up. Most are finishing partial airframes left over from the bankruptcy.

You can tell by the serial number. 550-02xx was an existing airframe finished. 550-1xxx is a full new build.

There are only two 550-1xxx on the US registry.

550-1001: N550F, owned by Aircraft Guaranty Corp Trustee in Texas. Appears to have been delivered to Europe in April 2015 using short hops due to avoiding RVSM altitudes.

550-1002: N150NE, owned by Eclipse and the delivery airplane mentioned in this thread and has not appeared in the wild per Flightaware.

Sounds like business is booming for the little company that tries to control each and every aspect of owning the airplane.

Ok now I get it. Some are selling their eclipse because they like it so much that they are buying a new one! I just thought 550 something or other was a citation.

The Eclipse 550 is a very nice little jet. They honestly fixed 85% of the issues of the original jet. Of course, there are still reliability problems, glitches, design flaws, and support concerns, etc. But for only $3m what do you expect? :D

I'm not throwing bricks, :duck: but I can't get this thread out of my mind for some reason.

This statement was the reason for the post, right?

Since the Eclipse was basically perfect, I decided to sell it.

Was this a test?

If so, I think I failed.
