"Ordinary" Commander 1000s go for $1.5M, ones with steam gauges.

I´ve been on a commander 840 twice. Beautiful ride and performance. On the 900 & 1000 there is a rear semi circular seating área. Is that a useful space for passengers or is that a lavatory? I remember the 840 had a huuuuge bagagge area.

Do all the turbine commanders have the lav between the pilots and the cabin without hard doors?

Mike, then get a 900 that's RSVMable with an upgrade to FL320. $1 mill smooth.

http://www.controller.com/listingsdetail/aircraft-for-sale/COMMANDER-900/1983-COMMANDER-900/1383431.htm

And if you're not hell bent on RSVM levels, an 840, with glass, that has same performance and range as the 1000 can be had for $695K. And I've seen much less than that for steam models.

For me personally (unless my financial situation would drastically improve) the 840 is the one I'd get. It's the one I'd have a chance at affording eventually. It's got all of the performance and range of the latest models, but just doesn't fly RSVM. Which is fine by me. I suppose you could make it RSVM, but probably not worth it for just another 3000ft capability.

That's called the love cave.... It has a curtain.
I'm not saying nothing... but I suspect when these planes were first being built the corporate climate allowed for many a promotion to be earned back there.

That is a terrible ad for an awesome plane.

Curious what a new 1000 would go for (if they were still in production)?

Say it had a Garmin g1000 or better panel.......$5 million-ish? Any guesses?

What is the range on an 840? Speeds?

If you can't get to FL350, then you can't get the same range as an airplane limited to FL280.

840 and 1000 specs both say 2040nm to dry. So whatever you save up there, you lose in the climb probably. The 1000 might be a few knots faster up there.

For a -5 plane, 270 KTAS and 1,600 nm if it's healthy and has LRF - give or take.

Never seen one with hard doors or the lab anywhere else, but maybe Bruce has?
