Here's a note from Bill's wife, Sue, from earlier today.... Hello All, Bill is tentatively planning to begin his polar attempt later this morning. The first leg is from Bangor, ME (KBGR) to Recife, Brazil (SBRF) with an estimated flight time of around 23 hours. The timing on the progress hits is set for every 4 minutes. https://go.spidertracks.com/fleetpro/public/zqpilotMany thanks to Nationair for coming through with worldwide insurance for this record attempt! Sue Harrelson

Just got this note from a friend who's in the Lancair circle of pilots...... Simply amazing really. TW ======================================================= Subject: RE: [LML] N6ZQ Dennis, Bill arrived in Bangor, ME yesterday afternoon for the start of his circum-polar flight record attempt. He's planning on leaving Bangor, ME this morning (1500Z). Planned route of flight is: Bangor , ME - Recife, Brazil - Punta Arenas, Chile - Christchurch, New Zealand - Honolulu, HI - Fairbanks, AK - Bangor, ME. You should be able to watch his progress at https://go.spidertracks.com/fleetpro/public/zqpilot, or at www.flightaware.com. For the latter you’ll need his tail number, N6ZQ. Our prayers are with him. Bob
