It isn't unreasonable at all to think that if two turbine aircraft have a midair and both were operating VFR we could lose that option. Oh you were just waiting for some old fuddy duddy to agree with you. Like I said in an earlier post. VFR aircraft are everywhere. With you 2 in charge they'd take away all the airspace and give it to the airlines. I guess you still don't realize that even when you're IFR you don't get a callout for every aircraft in the sky.

Here's one you will really think is, if too many Germans thought like you they would have a speed limit on the autobahn like we do. Luckily for them most of their citizenry has exercised good enough judgement so that so far they have not had to tighten their rules. I've driven the autobahn many times.. You can go well over 100 MPH. What's your point? You're the one trying to set a speed limit. Now flying VFR is bad? Ha

I agree vfr aircraft are everywere thats one more reason to fly at FL270/280 were there is no traffic or weather. Your not saving anything by flying vfr under 18000 ft. Your slower, burn more fuel and put more hrs on your aircraft. Username Protected wrote: I don't think it's bizarre at all. I have never really thought of myself as an old fuddy duddy, but whatever, some of your posts are funny and I hope the dumb ones are tongue and cheek.

Do you try to speak to everyone in your life from your high horse?. It’s common trait among control freaks and Bible thumpers.

I will take the headwind rather than flying at 10k in turbulence and weather. Its pretty rare that you see a tailwind at 10k and an headwind at FL270/280. Dont buy a jet if you like flying VFR. Username Protected wrote: Marc, when headwinds at FL270 are 85 knots and you have a 20 knot tail wind at 10k’ then you’re absolutely not “going faster” at FL270
Does this really require explanation? I thought it was Pilot101 stuff?

Hhhmmmmm.......this is just not true. I have flown in several countries where one can fly vfr and not speak to anyone.

Which the bible specifically warns against... just for the record :D I just flew a trip from AZ to PA to TX to AZ. I spoke to two tower controllers, because I had to. I can monitor freqs and have 3 traffic sources on board. I can also look out the window and listen to XM. Life is good.
