Soloed a rocket last weekend, amazing machine and smoked any rv I've flown. Loops and rolls from level flight; more extra 300 than rv

Authorized? I thought they were expermental?
On the Vans site there is this highly detailed report about flutter at high speeds. This is the reasoning. http://vansaircraft.com/pdf/hp_limts.pdf

I guess I’m a bit late to the Van’s party. Building an airplane is a huge solo project that typically end up in the hands of others. However, if you thought you might like to try your hand at it, check into your local high school aviation classes and volunteer as a mentor. I’m fortunate to have that opportunity as head mentor in Granbury High’s Eagle’s Nest program. Here is our photo album as we work on our second airplane; we have the first in a hangar at KGDJ: https://www.flickr.com/gp/125356136@N02/tqf5A2

I read the problem with turbocharging an RV from the website. It must be closer to flutter speed than most airplanes if it has that problem. Can it be modified to deal with it?

Can it be modified to deal with it? Above my pay grade. I can tell you that all of the "Rocket" versions, and the "super" versions exceed the recommendations and to my knowledge none have failed because of flutter.

What is a rocket version? Is there anyone on here that has built an RV-10?

https://barnstormers.com/listing_images.php?id=1317456Here's an 8 with a six cylinder IO-470C. That's the same engine that Beech put in the J, K and M35's. Username Protected wrote: All RV-s are 4 cylinder lyc's except the 10. (last time I checked)
The rocket is not a Vans product. It's a modified 4 with a lyc 540.
Have only heard of one possible flutter fatality a few years ago. Tony Kelly, New Jersey RV7. Don't know the final report findings.

Looks like they swiped the top cowl, nose bowl, and lower cowl/keel from a Bonanza, and fashioned some ... non-stylish lower nose bowl.
