It was not a practical airplane, but really fun... I heard that the company is broke and gone now... http://www.kitplanes.com/magazine/fixedwing/8868-1.html

Username Protected wrote: Funny Jason! Why does it seem so hard for companies to look at the market opportunity and decide on a niche with enough potential to justify the development costs. I must be missing something. For Honda....... It's about marketing. Gives them something to talk about. Who cares if it never comes to fruition? Look how many times you've seen it in their TV ad's etc. It's what you have to do when you're a major brand like Honda. "Hey honey, look at this Honda Jet... Looks awesome.... Let's go buy a new Accord"! A lot of my big customers do the same thing. Spend a couple years developing a new product. Launch it just to have something new to talk about and then pull it when it doesn't sell. Repeat! Honda is an engineering firm if nothing else. Honda Jet and Honda Robot and Honda Momma makes them look "cutting edge".

The other test plane (painted red) has been down here in Elizabeth City, NC (ECG) testing a couple of times .They were doing braking tests, the USCG was kind enough to wet down the runway for some of the tests. A good looking plane and quiet !

There were 4 jets flying for a while. May have more now, but they had deep blue, gray, red and yellow models. All have 420 in the tail number, with HJ (HondaJet), HA (Honda Aviation), AH (American Honda), and HM(Honda Motors). If you fly in NC, especially around Greensboro you will see them.
Should have said "...lighten-up Francis".

Well park next to his Pilatus and have a photo shoot I'm sure he will be a more gracious host. Hey, there are many, many Honda Mama's in KRBW. I think they grow them here. Don't bring any more. We're full.
LMAO!!

Exactly my thoughts Sam. Remember the Honda civic , the little mini-50 mini bike/ motorcycles, the generators... I dunno but they ain't dumb. Username Protected wrote: I suppose I find the thread an interesting take on human behavior . Not once did anyone have anything positive to say about the plane and then degrades to bashing certain people. Sort of a mob characteristic. And a BT "favorite".
The Japanese pretty much changed the whole automotive world. Who is to say they might not change aviation? They are a proud people though and I am sure they have encountered setbacks that they did not anticipate. Probably a good reason for their "coolness".
You can be sure I for one will keep a closer eye on this plane. It's preliminary numbers are very attractive. How any leaders in innovation have been previously bashed? Lots. Ask yourself why. I already know.
