Yes and No.
Yes:
A number of flights ago they did a midcourse transfer within the Starship. From main to header or some such. (was a NASA contract line item so they go paid for the demo)

No: they have not yet shown a transfer from one starship to a totally different starship. That is coming with the V3 starships in the next 12 months. Need to launch two ships to orbit and have them rendezvous first.

This is perhaps the best video out there on how to go watch a SpaceX launch -

My son and I went to see the launch and it was assume!

Even for a jaded 31 year old kid I think he was impressed.

We were five miles north and as it rises up there is no sound but with this huge rocket in the sky rough numbers is 5 seconds per mile for the speed of sound so 25 seconds later the sound rapidly ramps up to the point you almost are putting your fingers in your ears.

They say the capture is as exciting as the launch so I'll have to go see it at least one more time.

We have a fishing cabin on the Texas coast with the same square footage of a 200 King Air.

We drove down to the cabin from DFW on Sunday and went to see the launch on Monday.

Here is what I sent the group in our fishing compound for those who might want to go see a launch -

=====================================================

For the latest updates to the launch times and live coverage of the launch go to:

https://x.com/SpaceX

The drive from the cabin down to the Brownsville area has large stretches of highway south of Corpus Christi where there is no place to stop for food, gas or go to the bathroom so plan accordingly.

Kingsville is a solid stop for gas and food. After that there isn’t much until you get to the Brownsville area.

For the full on SpaceX Starship launch experience it is going to take two full days either back to back or break them up between visits.

Texas Highway 4 from Brownsville out to Boca Chica Beach is currently a public road so there are no issues driving right by the launch site but Elon is itching to permanently close the road to public access.

The good citizens of Brownsville are fighting Elon to keep Highway 4 open so they can still access Boca Chica Beach.

They don’t fuel the rocket until just before the launch so Highway 4 remains open until about six hours before the launch window opens.

Day 1 - Drive down to Brownsville and then go out to Boca Chica Beach where you can get your feet wet in the Gulf of America before Elon convinces the State of Texas to permanently close Highway 4 and put a guard shack five miles away to stop people from driving so close to his rockets.

Boca Chica Beach is a free public beach and it's open from sunrise to sunset. There is no overnight camping and no alcohol consumption. SpaceX can temporarily close the beach for launches.

WARNING - Highway 4 from Brownsville out to Boca Chica Beach is a little dinky two lane road with lots of Space X employees working on the rocket and when is shift change? Once you leave Brownsville there is nothing on Highway 4 to support you, no gas stations, no bathrooms, no fast food, no mini-mart, no water, no nothing. It’s about a 60 mile round trip out to Boca Chica Beach and then drive back, traffic, idling engine, shift change, etc…..you’ve been warned.

Day 2 - Go to Isla Blanca Park in Port Isabel, Texas to see the launch. To enter the park it’s $12 CASH. They take NO credit cards.

For an afternoon / evening launch you could do it all in one day but it’s going to be a long day. For the sake of argument the launch window opens at 6:00 PM. Cameron County Sheriff will close Highway 4 at 12:00. All of this depends on how many other people are driving out that little two lane road and at the end they have to turn around to come back. This doesn’t include all of the people who want to get out of their cars and gawk at the massive rockets. Then drive over to Port Isabel to spend the next six hours before launch.

Isla Blanca Park is about as close as you are going to get to see a Starship launch:

Isla Blanca Park
33174 State Park Rd 100
South Padre Island, TX 78597

We arrived two hours before launch and with the crowd that had already arrived we were stuck way in the back of the park and were in the parking lot to the west of the Isla Blanca Park Pavilion.

AT&T was our cell phone provider and we had no access to the web for updates to the progress of the launch. I guess the system was over loaded with users? The people who were parked just next to us had Verizon and had good web access so they kept us updated with launch information.

This link will give you up to date information on Highway 4 from Cameron County -
