Username Protected wrote: Thanks Mark. While gas savings isn't there it sure helps to have and brief in relaxed situation a new departure procedure from an unfamiliar airport. It only takes one mistake. It was awesome. I called ground and got taxi clearance. Just remember to change your transponder. So focused on flight plan I nearly forgot.
Keep in mind, the PDCs only work at certain airports. I'd gladly pay the $200 if it worked at all US airports, but I don't use the ones listed all that often.
Here is a link off their website that explains the details. https://www.fltplan.com/PDCInfo.htm

Yeah...I wasn't exactly sure how "twin engine piston" fit in this post. This was (and still is ) a Citation 550 but surely Michael P knows that.

a REAL pro flies a piston twin....... ....at some point in his/her career. True dat. I flew the Citation from KSAW to KIMT (12 minutes) and then the 310 from KIMT to KCOS to KSDL. The KCOS to KSDL leg was at 16,000 over the Rockies at night. Whole different kind of flying vs a 4 hour non stop for a KIMT to KSDL flight in the Citation at FL380. I had to fight back the feelings of jet snobbery that were setting in. Also got a chuckle thinking of some jet jocks I have flown with who think flying a jet single pilot isn't safe. Uhhh compared to what? Flying a 310 at night over the Rockies SP? Or shooting a low IFR ILS in a 310? Please. I have always felt safe in the 310. Let me just say I feel a lot safer in the jet.

a REAL pro flies a piston twin....... On another board, I was discussing the principles of rotary wing flight and dissymmetry of lift. Auto correct changed it to dysentery of lift. Each can be a mess, but for very different reasons
