It would take some of the pain out of spending that much money and not being able to call it a Beechcraft. BTW I owned a Cessna years ago and loved it so I'm and not a Cessna hater just a Beechcraft lover. from it's tail and the form of the fuselage…it does seem to have some KA 200 genes in there.. however I do understand why Textron will run it under the Cessna name… makes it easier for Beechcraft to promote their twin King Airs….less conflict of interest in the marketing department...

The main trick was probably putting 3875hp on the nose.
Soloy has a setup where two PT6-114A engines drive one propeller:

Curious, a few have commented that it looks like it has some KA features and Beech legacy. Where?
To me, this looks more like a Citation, look at the wing, the fuselage, even the avionics. (Cessna went Garmin a long time ago, Beech stuck with Collins). In addition, Textron is building the Scorpion, mostly based on Cessna parts. It seems like they are poaching more from the Cessna side of the house then Beech.

Tim It will be interesting to learn what went into the design, they call it a "clean sheet" but we know that's rare... too easy to incorporate proven designs. I haven't had the opportunity to look at it in person and can't tell enough by the pictures... but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the Mustang M2 was a big influence. As far as the avionics, both Cessna and Beechcraft have been locked into Collins contractually for many years. One of the reasons Citation started building the Mustang was to give it a new model designation so they could include Garmin Avionics. Could it be that Beechcraft didn't have any wiggle room in their Collins agreement and that influenced the decision to make the Denali a Cessna? So far the only Citations with G1000 are Mustangs and then the CJ3+ with G3000 (rare), Sovereign+, Lattitude and TEN+ have G5000
