Pointed out the run way is rough as hell, and you can actually see the hood bouncing/right stick moving in the cockpit so the ailerons are indeed tightly coupled to it. Hilarity of other "explanations" ensue.

It's at least comforting, I suppose, to know the "disease" is not localized in one locale.

Ego being the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity is not a localized phenomena. Rest easy folks.

Mmhmm, evidently you’ve not seen the video of peter fixing the control stick in place firmly then moving the ailerons demonstrating 1/2” to 3/4 of play at the trailing edges. Interestingly the RH aileron appears to have more play than the LH aileron. In the video it’s dismissed as “just a bit of play”. Rough runway my ass.

Folks can watch the video and decide for themselves. Starts at the correct time.

For those who don't speak Greek, Chris wrote (copy-pasted):

I still ponder how it's relevant, again.
But there is a pattern: not answer the question, change the subject. This time it's change the language.

Ego destituta!

Just to clarify, Chris: you maintain that the raptor will meet all the objectives: price/range/speed, correct?
Willing to take a bet?

You’re so right. But it’s like being in the presence of a fat exhibitionist.

No. He can not meet his objectives as stated given the increase in weight.

What I also said is if he get's within even 75% of his stated goals (which I think he has a great shot at) it is a revolutionary achievement.

I have also said this bird is going to get cleaner, lighter, and cheaper with each iteration.

So to continue in the spirit of quoting Cato the Elder...

Είναι καλύτερα να στοχεύεις τον ουρανό και να χάσεις, τότε πρέπει να στοχεύσεις την κόλαση και να φτάσεις.

Quick question: why do you keep quoting Marcus Porcius Cato in Greek, when he wrote everything in Latin, and is only known to have a limited education in Greek?

Are you SURE you know who Cato was? Cause you're quoting wrong!

Even worse, you're INSULTING Cato's memory, someone who was known as a strong conservative defender of Roman traditions, in opposition to Hellenistic ones.
He used to call the greeks "degenerates".

Very little of of what Cato the Elder directly wrote survives. Most of his quotes come from Plutarch. All of the Elite in Rome wrote in Greek after the middle republic. It was the lingua franca for the educated.

Complete BS.
The fact that Cato wrote in Latin, is known as one of the first historian in Latin, and as an opponent of anything Greek, is a fact.

And MANY of his writings remain. Start with the one about agriculture: De Agri Cultura.

Or his speeches.

Please, PLEASE, if you can't admit you're wrong, just stop.

This is EXACTLY what I am talking about. And it applies to the general discussion from the perspective you get one guy spouting off complete BS and because it sounds like a reasonable argument it cast shade on the truth...

So to bury this for those unclear.... Name one OTHER complete work of Cato the Elder that has survived.

There are no others.
Zero.
Period.
Full Stop.

De Agri Cultura is both the ONLY complete surviving work of Cato AND is regarded as a jumbled mess by historians because the Latin was so poorly written.

The Subaru is superior to the Lycoming in a few areas: initial cost, lower overhaul costs, no carb heat and noise levels. While I can't justify the price tag of a new Lycoming and still don't really like them, I can't dispute the fact that they do the job well for most people flying their RVs below oxygen altitudes. The amount of engineering, fabrication and testing/ modifying involved to make our installation viable is beyond the scope and capabilities of most builders. Firewall forward packages, offering Subaru power such as Eggenfellner's, save much of the engineering, fabrication and development but are also quite costly simply because of all the work already done for you here. Performance of his supercharged EJ25 engines would appear to be similar to our turbocharged EJ22 or the Lycoming.

as to Eggenfellner

Eggenfellner on the other hand has bolted one engine after another on an airplane to see if it will work. His first effort was with a VEZ. It failed. Many frustrating failures along the way and a few successes - the Italian 4 seater, the GlaStar and the RV's. An effort with the Defiant, it failed but is on going - brand new engine burned up when a cooling system failed.
