Seems like a really good buy but I don't know that much about turbines yet. It's on my bucket list. What's keeping this from selling. Would it be considered to be sold to it's last owner?

The F model is a very economical choice, lower fuel burns, lower acquisition price, good range. Good for those who don't need high and hot very often. The F model is good for those who would like the option to fly VFR at 17,000 ft is a viable altitude for it with reasonable fuel burns. Africano over built the panel, so someone will get a very well equipped low cost airplane that goes faster than a King Air 90 at substantially less fuel flow. It might be a niche, but it is a very good niche! Mike C.

It's fast but it's not FAST.
I agree with you. I lusted after an F model for many years. I think they are amazing.
But the OP's questions was "Why is 22MZ not selling"
And I think speed is part of the answer. It takes a lot of effort to understand an MU2. Most of the people who go to that trouble (frequently aerostar owners) want 300 kts, not 260.
Price is another part of the answer - last I recall, he wanted $350. The $200K F model that hit controller last month lasted about 3 days.

I'd like to know where I can find a 260 knot airplane that burns 55 gph of Jet A for $200K. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find such a creature. Do you know where some are hidden?

Do you know where some are hidden? Periodically F models come on the market. I believe this one sold for right around $200K: http://northernjetsales.org/?page_id=476Mike C.

"1969" and "350,000" are the reasons why it is still on the market.
If the seller would do what Mike did when he sold his 210 years ago it would be gone pretty soon.

My Commander only does 250kts, but it cost $115K to buy. People just don't look very hard and they certainly don't look for the odder types. Same with the Aerostars. A plane that beats any other twin in bang for the buck, yet they sit on the market for a year, whilst much lesser planes get sold because they're more familiar.

Was it airworthy and if not how much to bring it up to snuff? How could it be so cheap aren't the engines worth more than that?
