Awesome video Scott, thanks for posting! A few months back, a longtime CFI @ KSNA passed away. At the memorial service held for him-in a hangar at the airport-this P38 did several fly-bys, landed, and parked outside the hangar for the reception. Like all of the flyable aircraft at Planes of Fame, its is a beautiful and meticulous restoration, and amazing to see fly (and hear!). Anytime you're in or near the LA basin, plan to take time to stop in at Chino Airport (KCNO) and visit the POF museum. You won't be disappointed, and if you're really lucky, they'll fly one or several of these beautiful machines while you're there!
