There is a fellow at my airport Mark Anton (2A0) who trained the Swift's muesums curator how to work on swifts, he has three for sale now all recently restored and in good shape, come and vist me, I'll set you up with Vaughn and you can fly one home...
Jay This sounds like one of those trips that can get really pricey in a hurry

Come to Phoenix and I can give a ride in Mike's red Swift. Sticks, IO-360 (Cont), slider, etc. One of the sweetest flying airplanes in the sky. It is actually a great time builder because you get RG and TW all at once. Attachment: Swift SUN [800x600].jpg

The wide main gear make the plane relatively stable, albeit a bit short coupled. Just caught that. Do you have one available for teaching or do you teach owners in their aircraft ?

When I had the old Lycoming O-320 (150hp), I would sometimes give dual in it if I couldn't get arrangements/time to get to the trainee's airplane. Every time I did it I was wondering "why in the world am I letting someone else trash my airplane?"
Once I converted it to the Continental IO-360 (210hp) I stopped giving formal dual in it (not that I did that much in it to begin with).
To answer your question, I normally train a student in their Swift. Before marriage/kid/airline job I used to stay very busy doing checkouts all over the country. Now it's hard to schedule time to do it.
