Ridiculous.

Cessna subjected a plane to routine factory testing and they found a problem. The sytem worked as intended. No fine.

Its all part of the "promote domestic manufacturing" plan.

While I don't understand the fine, the production plane was being audited by the FAA to check standards, etc. This wasn't really a "TEST" flight but an ongoing audit of the production process. It looks like Cessna failed the audit.

What happens if someone farts during production!? Maybe that delaminates the whole thing.

Might be caused by sharting.

Our high school metal shop teacher had a list of shop rules. One of them was never fart and walk away. Perhaps he knew the risk it posed to quality.

Quote:
An investigation found that excessive humidity at a Cessna manufacturing plant in Chihuahua, Mexico, prevented the bonded materials used to make the wing from curing properly, FAA said. Thirteen of the planes were ordered grounded.

Well, Cessna sure saved a bunch of money by moving that production to Mexico. :bang:

My daughter works for a pharma firm and they tried outsourcing some of their production to Puerto Rico. They had to spend so much time keeping an eye on things that they moved it back to the U.S.

I mfg all there seals for 300/350/400 from day one...

The problem is no a/c in the plant and all airframes that have been mfg there are junk now...

it will be time for a complete climate controlled facility

I was told during the sale of Columbia to Cessna for 25 million that they would keep the mfg in Bend...

Time will tell

Guy
