But without pressurization, I'm more happy in the teens, lean of peak, with the nose-hose on.

I haven’t taken mine above 17,500’ but I see 200 - 205 KTAS there on my WOT/LOP/2300 RPM/15.5 GPH setting. I have an A36 Bonanza; not a Baron. I wonder what your fuel burn was though with the big Lycoming at max cruise?

Here’s a pic from a trip to Florida back in June. I was direct ABQ at the time. 206 KTAS at 17,500’ on 15.8 GPH (indicated). The fuel totalizer indicates I’m burning 15.8 GPH but when I refuel after about a 4 hour flight it’s about 1.5 gallons off so I figure actual fuel burn is 15.5 GPH at this power setting. I know I could tweak the K factor but I like having a tiny bit of cushion in the fuel calculations so I use the K factor provided with the fuel flow sensor. Of course I could cruise at 2500 RPM at 17.x GPH and go faster but I like this setting. Attachment: IMG_2263.jpeg

Not really. There was a wiring issue with the factory probe; it was reading too high. The forward oil temp probe is showing 181 degrees F. It was a warm June day.

This is an entirely new program. The last time Cirrus was in the pre-owned business was 2010/2011. There is still a very strong relationship with two independant pre-owned broker partners, Aerista and Lone Mountain Aircraft Sales. So, current owners making a move can now choose to list with a broker to get retail but with the uncertainty of timing, negotiations, pre-buy; in addition to ongoing loan costs, insurance, storage, MX, databases and the risk of getting a "ding" etc., or they can trade to Cirrus at a wholesale price. The analogy of a luxury car dealership and a "same day key swap" is very accurate. The wholesale price will always be less than retail, but so is the hassle!! It's already been very popular and I expect it to grow.

The Matrix is a great example of what is possible with the engine technology we have and how much of it is wasted in the old Bonanza design. With basically same energy i.e. fuel usage, the Matrix has a much bigger cabin, FIKI, can fly high from the factory. And despite the much bigger cabin, it’s at least as fast as a TN bonanza.
That’s the plane Beech should be putting up against the SR22 at a reasonable price. To passengers, the SR looks like a toy compared to the Matrix.

I sold two of my cars from the collection wholesale this fall. The simplicity of the transaction (hardly any wasted time) made up for a couple lost dollars. I imagine people flying cirrus are in similar time/value propositions and this will do really well.
