And that does seem like the cirrus type You see some, but not a lot of professionals flying new Cirri. Most seem to be pretty successful businesspeople living their best life. There is a healthy used market that allows we poor people to enter the fold. Probably takes around 200K per year, if honest with yourself to own and operate a new Cirrus factoring in cost of capital, depreciation, fixed and operating costs.
Certainly, it was just the net worth that peaked my interest. My mind just doesn't compute having only a 1MM net worth and flying a 1MM aircraft but everyone manages their finances and priorities differently I suppose.

Here’s a full fuel, 4 passenger, with luggage W&B. Looks like 825 useful. Pull out the fat pilot, and you open up a whole world of possibilities.

And that does seem like the cirrus type Exactly. And that is very much the new generations. Tech has given many people high salaries that were unimaginable 20 years ago. 10 years of experience in FAANG easily gets up to $500k. Enough to buy all these toys on credit. But these people often have negative net worth, and are living paycheck to paycheck. This is a different crowd from the Beechtalk crowd.

This is a different crowd from the Beechtalk crowd. I know people who are in their 60s and still in that boat. The appearance of wealth has always been more important than the reality. They buy everything on credit, take out HELOCs to extend their buying power, and then flaunt their "wealth" and want to rub elbows with actual wealthy people. They get treated like royalty when they're in their habitat (fancy restaurants, expensive clothing stores, jewelry stores, etc.) But I wonder about their end game? What happens when they want to retire and can't sell all of their illiquid possessions or get their money back from the luxury cruises they took?

Replace the pilot with a 165lb old guy, the copilot with a 160lb person, and replace one of the pax with a 60lb dog! I've been trying to find a C510 for Garmin Pilot but they seem to only load pistons...

Interestingly enough, Mustangs do pass through the market from time to time
In May of 2016, 4 year old N826AG was listed for $2,825,000. At that time, it had 280 hours and a SAT Phone! I do not know what it sold for.
It is again on the market now, with 1,040TT now, new boots in 2022, upgraded to NXI, painted in 2020. Fully paid up engine program. Asking price... $2,995,000 (but no mention of the SAT Phone).

It was on the market, but never sold. It is still owned by the original owner. I won’t speculate on the value of an aircraft that we have not researched, but will say that asking price seems really steep for a 2012 Mustang. It is really low time and is advertised to be Textron maintained and painted by Duncan. I will say that we’ve purchased Mustangs for a lot less that were a $150k paint job away from being equal to or nicer than SN400.

What you're saying is, that it is "outstanding", right? You can get a lower time 2017 for just over $3mm.

Is that what a jet costs to paint these days???? I believe it! I paid $46K to get the Might TwinBo painted in 2021. Small bizjets don’t have more wetted area, but I can see the paint shop charging 3x to a “wealthy jet owner.”

Is that what a jet costs to paint these days???? That’s probably a little high for a Mustang, certainly more than $100k at Duncan.

Last year we had a CJ bid for paint at some smaller shops and the average paint price was around $75k. The paint, while absurd, doesn't surprise me much. 250K for an interior though.....ouch I'd bet these shops also have owners flying around in jets
