johnathan - if you are serious about a mu-2 - solitaire or not, Id talk to Leah Kadar-Hodd at Air1st or Ron Northern. Both will have or know all of the MU-2s that are available or soon to be available. Many of these MU-2s transact off market, and they are frequently closed before they even hit the market. Both are excellent to deal with, reputable and straight shooters. They also know all the pilots that can ferry the plane for you or to training. You will need SFAR 49 Part N or whatever its called - training before you are legally allowed to touch the controls.

As luck would have it, shortly after I posted here, a Solitaire came my way. Bought it at the end of 2024. Did initial training and 50 hours with James Drexler. It has been wonderful so far. I just dropped it off in Tulsa for a 100/200 hour inspection. The fuel burn is certainly more than the other two planes I have, but I haven't regretted a minute of it.
I'm probably going to sell the Cirrus or the 58P Baron in the near future.
I flew the Cirrus yesterday on a short flight and burned a whole 3 gallons... I had to laugh... Hell, that much is usually gone before I start to taxi in the Solitaire!

I had my eye set on that Solitaire, was second in line if your deal fell through for some reason. I also trained with James and in January did Simcom. I would STRONGLY recommend time in the Simulator. Hilgard

Congrats on the Solitaire purchase! You'll love it. Your comment about fuel flow reminded me that the Marquise I owned burned about the same GPH idling on the ground, going ZERO Knots, as my Cessna 340 cruising at 200 Knots! That was a bit disconcerting. Nevertheless, it was a great plane to own.

Congrats on the twin turbine. Once acclimated to fuel burn, the speed, climb and useful load are well worth it.
Happy flying!
