Greetings All,

I'm looking for info on the Inspection Program for the Cheyenne I/II series. Is it Hours based? Calendar based? Cycles based? I believe it's a 4 event program but haven't been able to find it online. Similar cost per year to an annual on a legacy cabin class twin like the 421C?

Kirk,

I have owned my Cheyenne for 18 months and have logged 180 hours. I believe that the Piper Cheyenne Progressive Inspections are Events I/II. To comply I believe both have to be completed at 100 hours. I am coming up on my second 100 hour inspection. If I recall correctly I paid about 6k for the last Event I/II.

There are other things, of course, that are calendar based like for any other plane. Pitot/static, O2, ELT battery etc, etc.

I am sure that someone else will be along shortly to give more details. I am still pretty young in the inspection nuances of the PAY1. A great resource for definitive information would be http://www.cheyenneairservice.com

One phase (can’t remember which)is 100 hr the other is 12 calendar months thus if u fly 100 hrs a year basically an annual

The program consists of two Events, 100 hours apart, and both of these must be completed in a 12 month period. The Event 1, about 55 man hours, is interior heavy, and the Event 2, about 45 man hours, is landing gear heavy.

In addition, there are many Special Inspections, and overhaul/replacement items, that will need to be complied with, based on hours, and/or calender time.

The only cycle items are those life limited components in the engine.

Both Event Inspections within 12 months
pnuematic lines each 7 years
24 month fuel cell inspection
Then your routine items (2yr heater decay, 12 month ELT, 5yr oxygen bottle hydro etc)
The majority of inspection/replacement items are based on hours.
Besides major engine work and/or component replacement, windshield replacement very expensive and
Propeller overhauls expensive, and expect some blades needing replacement
