It was very successful. They came back looking brand new. Total bill including reblading the disk ($10K profit mark up for shop) was about $60K.
Was that regrowing all 71 HT blades or only those that failed dimension check?
At $500 per HT blade, that works out to $36K in blade work assuming they all went through the process.
Did any blades fail and have to be replaced?
The next step will be to see if the blades now last as long as replacements would have.
I'm still leery of the -5D engine. I'm happy with my old fashioned -5A engine, and the fact I can Garminize my plane. If this blade regrowth works, and we get a digital autopilot option, then Ultras become a more interesting airplane.
