Hello, I tried a search. Has anyone had success with a new flap indicator cable from Cessna? Just installed one, we cannot get it to work, it binds and chatters. Tried lubing, repositioning clamps for more/less on the bends. I can get it to move freely with zero load, but with the spring installed the binding starts. It’s a 1244-20 cable for a replacement number. Basically a 13 foot long cowl flap cable. This is on a E model 206 with the “pre-select” flaps. McFarlane doesn’t make a cable for this model or I would have one in hand by now. Thanks Jason

It’s still binds with no spring, the chatter goes away but won’t go full travel with the spring assist ----- Mark (A&P)

McFarlane is making a new cable now off the specs from the original cable. Should cure it. I really liked the local Cessna dealer and there 25% restocking fee.

New McFarlane cable is in and all is well. It’s a overly complicated system!

Cessna used that system from the C150 into Citations, works well when it works, a pain to trouble shoot and rig. Yes, I too like my Johnson bar.

I do like manual flaps, flying and working on my C180 is way better than the C206. However, when there’s something big to move it’s my wife’s 206 that gets called into service. We live in AK so most everything gets moved by air. Someday, when I get a hanger, they’re hard to come by here, I’ll have a twin bonanza.
