It would seem based on the responses I got on the Facebook forum for Citation pilots that I deserved certificate revocation for merely asking about flying SP in Mexico. Turns out I am unsafe, an accident waiting to happen and a clown for even considering it much less attempting it. I am curious how the plane knows when I cross the border and specifically how that makes it/me unsafe but so far, no answers on that question. Did you get any birds? No birds.....

Are boots hard to find for 550's? I saw this one on the ramp and thought it was strange that they would be changing a boot in Texas, on the ramp, this time of year. I looked closer and saw a stall strip had been glued onto the leading edge. I guess they are flying it without a left wing boot. Attachment: 20220803_071429.jpg

I guess they are flying it without a left wing boot. Curious. Maybe they have some sort of authorization to operate without boots for ferry? In practical terms, you hardly ever need the boots. I've yet to be in any situation where I needed them on the Citation. This includes winter flying as well. In the summer, you won't take any ice to the ground. Mike C.
