The 172 in the photo is a 145 HP Continental 0-300 powered 172, as evidenced by the dual exhaust stacks shown. The Lycoming powered 172, and the Continental powered 210 HP 172 XP, have a large single stack on the right side of the cowl.

Good evening, Rocky and nice choice in planes.
I, too, have many hours in a T-41B from the Monterey Navy Flying Club. You might want to consider using ARMY livery for the T-41B. We did have them.
I used to fly from Language School to South Lake Tahoe in the T-41B with the 210 hp Isham upgrade. High performance and Complex.
40 degree flaps allowed interesting STOLs.

My first solo was in a fixed pitch T41 at UPT at Randolph AFB. That was 51 years ago. I understand the nostalgia. You always remember your first. Enjoy your plane.

Quote: That is a T-41c from the AIR force Academy, see logo on tail. I lesrned in an academy flying club T-41B Obviously, I was unaware they had basically stock 172s as T-41s. Sort of like several of the King Airs are C-12 variants.
