Does anyone know the mercruiser part number for the prestolite pump in the pic?

No but it sure looks like the trim pump in my 1973 Formula with a V8 Mercruiser IO. I bet if you took the pump to a Mercruiser dealer they'd be able to find a match.

We capped each gear leg off and the pump still does the same thing. We bypassed the emergency gear extension and it still does the same thing. Going to remove pump. It was overhauled in 2014 by kelly aerospace.

Have Powerpacks Plus overhaul it or just do an exchange. HYC5005, correct?

I did an exchange with mine after chasing similar issues. Runs fast an flawless now. I spent more chasing the problem in labor than the exchange.
