Von Braun's leadership and contributions were vital to the successful development of the infant U.S. space program and he directly impacted the legendary Gemini & Apollo programs, maybe more than any other individual.

There's no denying Von Braun's brilliance and technical leadership in the U.S. rocket programs or the Nazi rocket programs.

There's also no denying that Von Braun cared more about his rockets, during his work up until 1945, than he cared about human rights.

When you examine the man, in his totality, those two sides of him are inseparable.

You cannot be both great and normal.

Back in college I had a Norton Commando.

As bad as Lucas electric stuff was, I've owned a couple of MG's, a TR6 and a Morgan +4, the electrical components in my deHavilland Chipmunk were all robust and very reliable.
