Be careful with the fuel flow markings. After flying a while with the Cruisair STC I remarked the fuel flow meter by changing the green arc on the glass.

The STC does not change the fuel flow gauge and with the higher power settings for continuous climb or cruise available with the STC if you simply put things to the top of the green on MP and FF it will be too lean.

I added a white slippage mark to the glass on the instrument and then added a stick on green arc from the top of the factory green arc (95 lbs) to 125lbs using the instrument marking tapes from Aircraft spruce.

The factory blue marking are still easy to see as well as the altitude marks and the other numbers.

I believe this is an error in the STC and can cause problems.

Hey Eric. Published TBO is 2000 hours. Since they’re de-rated to 250 HP they typically make TBO and well beyond without issue. They’re really not working very hard at all.

The “normal” vibration felt in the 303 is due to having fewer counterweights on the crankshaft. While a dynamic prop balance is good for overall vibration, in the case of the 303 I’ve spoken to a few owners who’ve had it done and not noticed any difference. That’s not to say it hasn’t helped, just not in a “seat of the pants” noticeable way.
