Got the family in the citation Saturday and took it up to FL330. Lots of fun and easy to fly. Dealt with some weather coming back to Houston. The plane is really solid and everything works so well. Avionics are coming next month after a trip to Florida. I decided on dual GTN750's, remote transponders and a remote Garmin audio panel. I'm going to add the new Garmin digital radar as well. It'll be down for 6 weeks but it should be ready for the next 20 years when I get it back. Great time to move up if you are in the market.

James I’m glad you’re having fun! Your MU-2 is well loved and I’m having a blast with her. MU is the most fun to fly plane I’ve owned second to the Widgeon.

If anyone wants a 501 of their own, the one in the background is owned by my friend and is extremely nice. Has ADSB. Only downside is no Freon Air Conditioning. It is for sale.

If you are lucky enough to get an ex-Crossno machine, it's going to be the best of the best!

I'm looking forward to getting an ex-Tarver Wigeon once you get bored of that thing and on to your next project :)

Bryan my friend, that would require tailwheel experience. Does that Mustang even have a rudder?

Yup. I think there's a button somewhere for that. I think it's between the wifi switch and the XM radio. They put all the critical systems right there.

Nice! Enjoy the Mountain Air. Short body landings can be sporty!

Below a MU-2 Marquise video landing on a grass strip in Brazil:

There is no grass strip I would fly a TBM into unless it was an emergency. Wheels too small and high pressure.

Tire pressure is your best indication of turf runway compatibility. In rough terms, the tire pressure will be your max contact pressure on the ground.

For the MU2, that's ~55 PSI for the nose tires and ~65 PSI for the mains. The low pressure comes from large wheels. You can't land on a truly soft field, but it does well generally. A TBM is about double those numbers (130 PSI for the mans?) which means it really isn't suitable for turf.
