Is there a technical / official name (or number) for the landing gear side braces?

The side brace is a simple 2 part assy., the PN will be found in the IPC for the appropriate year model.

That said, the side brace itself is NOT a problem on 310s - the problematic area is the wing rib where the side brace attaches to the wing structure.

The rib is prone to cracks hence a SB kit was issued many years ago to address this problem and re-enforce the wing rib where the side brace is attached.

The common vernacular is “side brace kit.” In a some plane’s log books, I’ve seen it referred to as “wing rib reenforcement kit” or “wing rib improvement kit.”

The MLG side brace kit is a SK414-8E.....it covers all the twin cessna's affected. Understand that the kit itself is only about $800 and it covers both sides...HOWEVER, in the service kit instructions, there are about 20-30 other parts that are required and some of them are quite expensive....last I totaled it up in a 310N model, it came to about 11K worth of parts (retail).
