I just couldn’t stand not having an airplane.
Jumped back into the pool with a 1970 Cessna 206.
STOL Kit, IO520. Getting the same fuel burn per trip as my old TravelAir but 20-30 knots slower...... :D :dancing:

It actually works for carrying the two German Shepards, the wife and two grandkids..
Plus it was a friends airplane who passed. I knew the airplane very well. Kind of an airplane DeJa Vu. I was looking at C206s when I bought the TravelAir.

I do like the three doors (its a P model) with the rear door on the left side.

I agree about the doors. Having two in front is a bigger deal than it seems like it ought to be.

I'm still pondering selling the 210 For a T206. Like the barn doors and ability to add oversize tires and probably more suitable for my average trips.

Chasing a fuel leak on the left right now. The cold weather we have had seems to shrink everything..... i think I found it but will be looking at a few more potential ares today.

Great looking and very useful airplane!

Only specific downside of the 206 that I know about is the rear door interfering with the flaps, making for one fewer doors in a runway LOC or off-field landing scenario. (And while that's a rare situation, it becomes an important one when it arises.) Not sure if that's the case for all years of 206 or not.
