There are an enormous number of wealthy people in the world and an even larger number, who while not rich, have large disposable incomes and for whom $2,000 a month is inconsequential. That was the demographic they were thinking about. The cost of the lease is $87,000 and the mileage allowance is 52,500 so the per mile cost is $1.65. Not very many airplanes fly that cheaply... I'm not a defender of Bentley, or any other luxury good for that matter, but the world marketplace is full of things which cost more than their intrinsic value and which depreciate precipitously so there can be no argument of "investment". I will say that, for most of us, to criticize the opulent expenditure of another brings the expression "First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend's eye". We all here anyway fly airplanes after all.

What I mock is not the expenditure, but the luxury company (?and society) that runs "You work! You ride!" style advertisements.

this more our style
picture of my wife and I just before our wedding 20 years ago
she said that if I was going to get her a wedding present, to skip the normal stuff and get her a jeep instead
I pointed to a plush, green, grand cherokee going past and asked, something like that ?
she says no, you idiot. It needs to be taller than that. And have a V8. And a manual transmission. And don't paint it some drab color like that.
At that moment I knew I'd found the right woman. So I built this for her.
