A useable potty for serious family travel is a must. We use ours just as we would use a bathroom at home. Complete non issue.

I'll bet that if you had one with a door it would be used.

There are ways of dealing with your bladder as well.
And yes, a real wood door that seperates the can is a big help for ladies. Pressurization outflow in the back behind the toilet is also a big help when the teenagers start dumping. Keeps the smells out of the main cabin.
