Well, just to be clear--the Altaire had a projected 1300 nm range
with 45 minute reserve, not NBAA IFR reserve, which requires a lot more fuel. And that is putting aside that actual range is often less than the range projected by the manufacturer when a design is first announced.
You don't actually need a Canada Eclipse to get range in the 1300 nm ballpark
when you stop talking NBAA reserves. The existing Eclipse has >1300 nm range with a
VFR reserve:
