I'm negotiating the purchase of a 2014 SR22 that is still under warranty and still on the Cirrus prepaid maintenance program. What prepurchase examination, if any, would be appropriate? Thanks.

I'd think clear and clean title and AD compliance would be a place to start? Then it matters on where it's coming from? One can be much more trusting with some sources than others, of course CYA applies.

I've never felt burned on any of the 3 planes I bought over the years. I also didn't get a traditional 'PPI'.

I'd be reading the fine print of that maintenance program. The Cirrus website would likely have details. Sounds like a great airplane.

I've had the Cirrus maintenance program and it covers literally everything. The work is done at the Service centers, tracked abd thorough. I'd have no reservation about buying a plane on it, although I think a prebuy is still wise.

Make sure you look at the logbooks to check for damage or recurring problems.

Learn and understand what the warranty covers, if you find a problem post-buy, do they fix it free? Does the warranty and mx transfer to you as new owner?
