Update, we demo'd sn 180 last week. It looks like the Mustang will suit us perfectly. Very easy to fly, CEO likes the cabin, won't have to worry about single pilot ops.
Now for the hard part...

Since this is a beech forum I'll add that I took my 1955 F35 from N. Jersey to the demo flight in Des Moines. 150 Kts true at 14,000 ft. 9.5 gph. What a great bird!

Flew in a Mustang the other day, KADS-KTEB. 3 hours 29 minutes, burned 1,980 lbs, landed with 600 lbs. Just 2 guys sitting up front. Pretty neat airplane. Heres a pic at FL410, TAS 341, GS 407 kts. Burning 260 pph/side.

What stands out to me instantly, is you have comm 2 on 121.5 !
So often I see pictures posted, taken enroute, and don't.

Impossible. That's 1200 miles and according to the experts here you would have fallen out of the sky after 500 because 'light jets are so range limited'.

Reading some of the VLJ threads here, those folks are flying westwards on every single flight.

Not only necessary and recommended ( required ) , but you hear some really funny stuff on 121.5.
It did save me once....busy, was waiting to check in...I had the center, only .05 off on frequency. Within 3-4 minutes I hear my number on 21.5.
