Anyone with RAM sync care to explain what the system can and can't do, or what to expect when in use? I have a recently installed system - it has an on/off switch and a phasing dial. I am trying to establish that it works - manual says get pretty close in RPM and then it will sync. My plane sync fairly well manually, so I'm trying to learn from others' experience how far out of sync will the system compensate for (as a functional test; I sync them by ear in real life out of habit). Also, what should one hear/feel as moving the phasing knob? I do not have a phasing indicator in the tach, so it's going to aural I presume.

Within about 50 rpm or so, anymore than that it struggles.
Your presumptions are correct. I don't always use the phase, I guess it's kind of set it and forget it. From my limited experience (120 hours or so) there's not much to it. I think it's a great tool, does it's job well.

Thanks Craig. Even the guy at RAM seemed to imply that once you find a favorable position for the phasing knob you pretty much leave it there.
