It is faster than a Duke, it requires much less maintenance than the Duke, Baron parts are easily available, burns less fuel than the Duke, and you are very familiar with most of the systems in the P Baron. There is a great 1982 P Baron on the Controller that is very well equipped, has very young engines and has good Paint/Interior. Fly a P Baron before you buy a Duke. Take a good look!! Speed about the same. Maintenance about the same. Parts about the same Duke has higher pressurization PBaron does burn less fuel for the same speed Duke much roomier.
Don't Forget......... Dukes are Cool!

Yea, but only if you add winglets and straies , but then you slow it down. And it hates LOP.

What ever happened to Todd S, Marcus P and the rest of BT's resident Duke experts/promoters chipping in. A couple of years ago we would have gotten 4-5 pages worth of reasons why Peter should buy a Duke and now there doesn't seem to be much traction.
If you are considering a Duke, Rocky's Lazarus is worth serious consideration. A true labor of love that turned out real nicely and you'll know exactly what you are getting into.

I'll chime in again! It looks like you'll possibly be getting a Duke! Before you bid on this bird, make one call to Gary Bongard. I believe his fingerprints are on the recently overhauled engine. The Duke represents one of the least appreciated values in piston twins. Good pressurization, good elbow room, reasonably fast, and if flown regularly and treated with respect and make their owners proud.

I hate to say it, but Marcus' plane is a better plane than Laz. Later model, better equipped Looks almost as good. I don't have the cash to go it alone, I would stand back if other Bt ers want to buy, or join a group to try to steal and flip it. I think mostly dealer brokers will be trying to steal it. I have a price in mind I think it will bring.
