That's amazing on an iPad! It moves in 3D with the tablet. I just spent awhile playing "name that plane" (one of my favorite games). I got all of the ones I could see :)

I know one of the guys behind that, he showed me an aerial view of Phoenix airports earlier this year, this website has taken that to a whole new level.

I wonder what happened to land the Blue Angel center stage.

Hard to believe, but the Blues actually fly some of the oldest Hornets in the Navy. Reason is that the newer ones go to fleet squadrons, so the older ones go to the Blues. It's a tribute to their maintainers that the planes look as good as they do and are so reliable....they really work to keep all six birds up.

Odds are the one you see in the boneyard pic was a blues plane that was then retired and sent there...not worth repainting it.

I did the bus tour of the base this past March. The have a display row for the tour showing single examples of the types of aircraft stored there. The earlier Blue Angel Hornet is parked in that area.

Too bad the government wont let loose of some of the pickled T34Cs to civilian hands. They sure had a bunch.
