So Mike Laver is hosting some sort of MU2 fly-in at Aiken (KAIK) this weekend. 30 planes expected. A few started showing up today. Enjoy - I'm no Max Grogan

Peace,
Don

The all black one has a very un-PC/questionable registration: N19ga….

But they do look super sexy with the 5-blade MT's tho….

I attended this. It is a very interesting group, really nice folks too. The support MU-2 owners get seems incredible to me after seeing what occurred at this meeting.......anyone want a really nice 1983 FIKI P210???

Gents,

I was hoping to accompany my dad to Aiken, says they having a good time - 40 Mu-2's on ramp. He is hoping to close the sale of our short body to a new owner.

I suspect he, Reece ,Mike Laver and Zipper will be up to no good till Thursday next week.

Told him to take pictures. He called going on about a F model that had been trickled out.

Regards,
Nigel

Wow. That's quite a gaggle of Mits. Special noise abatement rules on departure day? :)

MU2s generate less noise than King Airs when in the air.

Now, as for ground idle...

Compare fly by, landing, and taxiing noise:

I was referring to the infamous Garrett ground idle noise. Did not know they were more quiet than a KA in the air. That's interesting. Do you know why?

Early Commanders with same size props as the MU-2 are also very noisy on the ground, but not so much in the air. It's got something to do with ground resonance from the high wing, and the smiley air inlet, or something. Don't think the low wing B100 is as noisy, although it has the same engines.
