Did the subject of a 2-seater come up? Just wondering....
No it didn't.

Without props I could tuck in even tighter Jay. Tell them to build a 2-seater with a parachute that will outperform my Glasair and I will order one. I don't care if it burns 2x the fuel as long as it has some range.

It is called a Cirrus SF50, 2 place when full fuel, parachute, only about $2.5M. It does burn about 5x fuel, though. Mike C.

The Cirrus is certificated, meaning 2x or 3x purchase price and total cost of ownership compared to a kit build.

3D printing will be the next big thing, just like the PC was. Lots of items in a jet engine will come down by a factor of 10 in the future. Instead of individual turbine blades at thousands of dollars each, a complete compressor stage (or even multiple stages) could be printed for the same price. I believe NASA has printed a 50,000 hp. turbo pump for a rocket engine.

Yep, that is insane. My old TS-11 Iskra was a better airplane. $100k for 325 knots at FL320 burning 100 GPH. Simple systems, large baggage compartment, and easy to fly. It had TWO parachutes and they were $100/yr to check and re-pack. Looking back, I should have kept the plane. It was a good x-country machine.
