The "di" just means there are two. The structure is potentially more sterically hindered for the di because the molecule is "floppier", but I bet it works even better as a biostat or biocide because it's likely that the polar bits (which there are more of) are in greater quantity and those bits are doing the killing. It's not the same as ethylene glycol; it's an ether.

I didn't look up the MSDS, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night...

I see -50C in the winter at FL270/280, no problem in the TBM.
We have to use Prist all the time. Its premixed at most place but not outside the US.
