I have been doing some research on the PA-28 float conversion. I don't think I would ever consider a conversion like this on my Piper. Just kinda cool to see what it takes to complete.

The Models PA-28-160 and PA-28-180, S/N 28-508 to 28-1760, and 28-1760A may be converted to the seaplane configuration, PA-28S-160 and PA-28S-180, in accordance with Piper Drawing No. 62008.

Has anyone see Drawing No.62008?

I'm in the same boat, I have seen the photos of the conversion, but never the kit drawings.

I purchased a couple of old kit drawings for my Cherokee before from Piper and price was about $20.00.

Melridge Aviation was the Northwest Piper distributer, at Pearson Airfield in 1966. They had the factory demo PA28-180S there for a couple of months. I got to fly it.

The owner,Jack Murdock:https://www.murdock-trust.org/trust-profile/jack-murdock.php

was a wealthy man and later paid Clayton Scott:http://rbogash.com/scotty.html

to put his Aztec on floats.......and owned the STC.

I took this picture from my Super Cub.

Very cool story. It looked like Mr. Murdock loved aviation.

I just noticed a Piper Avtec on floats forsale on Trade-a-plane. Canadian based

Is it just me, or do some airplanes simply not look right on floats?

Cezznas are made for floats cause the wings are up there out of the way. These Pipers may look funny but when you try docking they are really not funny any more. Lotta hanger rash.

That Aztec with 2012 P&I and 700/1400 on the engines looks like an interesting plane if your mission includes crossing lots of canadian wilderness to get to your fish camp. Aztecs aren't exactly fuel efficient to start with, your nm/gal is probably pretty atrocious.
