Still, it's a possibility. I don't need any more range than 80 gallons LOP will provide. That will get me to Seattle or Texas non-stop and round trip to/from Chicago from the west coast with only a single fuel stop in Colorado each way. The useful load is the issue. Can a Malibu haul 5 adults and weekend luggage 300 NM with IFR reserves? I think the Malibu could have been done better. I believe Cirrus, because of their composite construction, may be able to manufacture a superior pressurized single. My point is........ Take your Bonanza and add pressurization and all the other crap required and it'll probably be a Malibu.

I am a co-owner of both a 1978 Bonanza A36 and a 2006 Cirrus SR22. I fly both planes each week in both VFR and IFR conditions. Both planes have air conditioning. The A36 has updated paint, updated interior, and updated avionics. The SR22 is typical factory Avidyne glass system. So if you want real world experience just give me a shout.
