Flew the little AA1A around tonight exploring it's flight envelope. After some slow flight and general fun flight I tried some simulated engine failures. Basically, we just me and roughly 1/2 fuel it comes down at 1050 FPM at 85 MPH. This plane is so darn easy to fly and is very responsive. I am having more fun today than I have in many years. I don't think I have put over $200 in fuel through this plane yet Best simulated failure starts at 8:50.

Very cool Todd. Nice to have a "play" airplane. Username Protected wrote: I don't think I have put over $200 in fuel through this plane yet

Then I saw it after I posted that. Remy undid all of Todd's salesmanship with his thread: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=92712&view=unread#unread

Had it up to 16,500 and still going, 133 kt cruise at 8 gph and climb at initial 2000 fpm. Mine was built when Gulfstream owned the type certificate. Wow! That would be a rocket! The 235 does pretty good, but still is a 500 FPM climber at gross. It will be great plane for my son to learn and just to fly around for fun. I had a good time last night just flying low and slow with the canopy open. It cost me less than $30 to fly around for an hour. That was refreshing
