A few weeks ago, I dragged my family off to the Gilmore car museum just outside Kalamazoo. There they teach people to drive the Ford Model T. My two older sons and I had a ball chugging around the museum struggling to work out which pedal does what.
After we had come home, I asked them "If we had model T would you drive it?" They both answered with an emphatic yes.
As I only have space for one fun car, and they just don't want to drive the Lancia - I want to swap my Lancia for a Model T. Ideally it would be a swap with maybe a few AMU's either direction, but realistically it will need to be sold.
The car is a 2000 Lancia kappa coupe with the 2 litre 5 cylinder turbo engine and 5 speed manual gearbox. It has 208,000 km. It has the polton frau leather, electronic steering, electronic suspension, xenon headlamps, ac, viscodrive (poor mans traction control), GPS navigation (that doesn't work in North America - but you can set the destination as the Nurburgring), CD player, cassette player, ABS and front & side airbags.
It has been surprisingly reliable. Since owning it, I have had to change out the CV joints, and replace all the rear brakes. Parts are relatively easy to come by out of Poland, Germany or Estonia. It allegedly had the timing belt changed in 2019, although there was no mention of it in the maintenance records. The 5 year change period is up now. I have a new timing belt kit and the cam locking tools. Both of the sills are a bit rusted and pushed in at the jacking points. I ordered two new sills two years ago from an outfit in Poland, and despite promises they have now resorted to ghosting me.
I imported it into Canada in 2019. The actual manufacturing date is 29 July 1999, so it turns 25 later this month making it available to import into the US.
Asking a brass Model T or US$12,500 or CAN$17,000.
