This rare bike belongs to my brother and it is in my possession. I've been chartered with getting it back to operating condition. It's been sitting for about 15 years.

I will get it running again so I can get a full idea of what may need additional work, so I won't put it up for sale until that happens. My biggest challenge is finding parts. Most of what I need so far is minor (e.g., rubber pieces) but I can't even find them. For example, the rubber connections between the air box and carburetors are rotted. I can likely replace the airbox with some K&N filters for each carb, but there are other rubber connections where replacements won't be so easy.

Given the knowledgeable audience here, I'm looking for ideas of how I can get access to parts.

Joe

Have you checked to see if there is a Facebook owners group for your bike ? I found a Facebook group for my XT600. I was able to find (in UK) The unobtainable plastics via that group. A lot of times bikes sold well in Europe and not in the US. You might need to buy from a overseas shop known by the FB group.
One note of caution, you will get the scammers saying they have your part. Look at their profile. If they recently joined the group, pass unless you can get a long term member to vouch for them.

3D part printing with elastomers is common now either building a actual part or building a mold that can recreate any part you need A scanner is helpful also but pretty common.

I had a 2003 Benelli Tornado 900LE for many years. There is no Importer for Benelli in the US or Canada. I got my parts from Maniac Motors in Germany.

info@maniacmotors.de

They can handle English emails very well. You should figure out everything you need as shipping will be dear but they can get you what you need.

There is a Benelli Forum but it is mostly folks with the newer (2000+) models. There is a "Classics" section but I never spent any time there: https://www.benelliforum.com/forums/classics.9/

When you're ready to sell I recommend Bring A Trailer. I sold mine there and was very happy. Here's a cherry version of what you have - sold on there for $35k a year ago:

All of their Benelli sales:

Thanks Chris, Scott and Bob,
Great suggestions.
I'll do more research. I did find one European parts supplier here:

http://www.benelli-bauer.com/pieces-Ben ... i-/900-sei

I did email them and they are in business. Having a second option would be good too.
