Truck is in Macon, GA

You CAN NOT drive this would having fun and getting tons of looks, thumbs ups and comments. Would be a great marketing tool.

I fell in love with these little Japanese market trucks when I was in Japan a couple years ago. This one served for 25 years as a fire truck and only has ~9000 miles from new. You get a great view/visibility while driving, and it's a total blast to drive. This is smaller than the usual NPR/UD landscaping or delivery trucks you see, but it is MUCH larger than the Japanese "Mini trucks" which are tiny and not useful on American roads. This would make an awesome farm truck, beach house or airport truck, kayak/bike hauler, landscaping truck, handyman truck, delivery truck, etc. With some bed/rack modifications you could use it as a hunting truck, people mover, or camper.

There's ample room for 6 people all with belts. It'll do around 75 mph, but is more comfortable at 65ish. It doesn't make a ton of power, so which you could tow a utility trailer or a jet ski with no problem, I wouldn't think of it as a tow rig.

It's complete rust free, everything works, all fluids look good and the interior and exterior are in great condition. It was white when built by Nissan but was painted red when converted for fire use, so it'd be easy to color change after bed modifications if you wished. You don't see these trucks imported to the US much because of the 25% import duty on commercial vehicles. The fire trucks are great because they're all low mileage and exempt from the 25% duty (as fire service equipment).

Parts availability is good since most of the mechanical stuff is just standard Nissan pickup parts from the era.

Edit: I should also mention, I have some good resources here locally if you'd like me to handle any modifications, conversions, paint, etc.

Cool truck. Perhaps I missed it, but how much are you asking for it?

Are the gauges still metric?

It's so weird shifting gears with my left hand.

How is it titled? Is it completely road legal in Texas (for example)? Or is it like some of the kit cars/imports where you have to register it in another state that has easier standards?

EDIT: Also - is A/C something that could be added or not practically?

Clean normal GA title and all import docs will come with it. I don't see any reason it can't be registered as normal anywhere. Only possible exception would be California due to emissions (but it has a catalytic converter so even that may not be an issue).

Unsure about A/C, my guess is that if you wanted to add it, the easiest route would be 90's nissan pickup parts. I probably wouldn't bother (and I'm somewhere as hot as TX) it's never going to be a daily driver and it's got HUGE windows.

Speedo and odometer are both metric. But speeding isn't too much of an issue in this thing. Just remember that 50 kph is ~30mph and 100 kph is ~60 mph and you're good.

Right hand drive is not really an issue, I've got several RHS/Metric vehicles at the moment, it takes about 10 mins to get used to. The hardest part is that the blinker is on the right and wipers are on the left.

Can you imagine having to clutch with your right foot, and accelerate with your left? :bugeye: I'd crash in 30 seconds.

At least the pedals are in the right order!

Yes, and you can showcase them all in the back. Similar to the guys who accessorize their speed boats with the bikini clad blondes.

Do chicks dig it?

I am reminded of the drunk line boy at KIER (Natchtoches, LA) who took the crash truck bar hopping one night. In the parking lot of one bar, he had the lights and siren going, then got on the very loud PA system to ask if any of the girls in the bar wanted to F him.

No takers.

When the police arrived, he led them in a low-speed chase back to the FBO. I guess he figured he was ok if he could get back to home base.

Didn’t work out that way.
