Any one have any thoughts on the value of a 1947 Luscombe totally disassembled. I believe every thing is there. No interior

Depends on a few different things (electrical or not being the main one), but flying ones are anywhere from 28-50k. With a missing interior, and the assumption that it was disassembled for some needed work that probably still needs to be done, 5-10k. I will caveat that with I’m a “cheap pilot bastard” and an A&P(which ironically no one calls ‘cheap mechanic bastard’), so I value my time and effort and a little different than most.

Is it an A model (65hp no electric) or an E/F model (85hp with electric)? Does it have an engine? Is the paint any good?

Unfortunately these days the value of most of these planes is in the engine. So a project is probably worth $5k plus the engine. I was looking at one locally last year and so I was watching Barnstormers for values and that seems to be around where the projects were at.

Depending on where it's located I might be interested if it's an E or an F model.

Luscombes don't seem to hold as much value as other contemporary planes unfortunately.
I see flying examples in decent shape semi-routinely under 20k.

I think the problem here is labor costs to reassemble everything could quickly add up... 40 hours at $150 an hour is 6K and as Justin mentioned you can get a nice flying example for about 18-20k. So someone would need to be all in around 5k to make sense, and that is if the big money items check out... engine, prop, gear etc

And to reassemble it is going to be hundreds of hours minimum unless it's just got the wings removed and is in great shape.

Not my project. An old project left inside the hangar. The original owner/AP/IA has now went west about a year ago. He was well into his 90s. We have all heard the stories in the past.

Things change, we get older, retire, everything is paid for, the airport fades into the background. His daughter is trying to clean up the items left behind.
If the logs can be found, the S/N will be checked to see what matches up.

I will put more information here when I get more specifics.

Thanks
